Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Greater Sudbury and vicinity
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.
A periods of freezing rain today.
A band of freezing rain will cross Northeastern Ontario later this morning into early this afternoon as a warm front approaches from the southwest.
Total ice accretion of 2 to 5 millimetres is possible.
The freezing precipitation will come to an end across all regions by mid afternoon as milder air in the wake of the warm front helps to lift the temperature above the zero degree mark.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
