Supporters of the Sudbury Good Samaritan Centre have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to purchase new and repair existing equipment for the Sudbury Mission.
Elgin Street Mission was founded in 1989 and since 2005 has shared a home in the Samaritan Centre providing a sure hope based on compassion. The Mission has seen continued growth in service and favour with the Sudbury community as it provides physical, emotional and spiritual nourishment to all who enter its doors.
The Elgin Street Mission in Sudbury, Ontario offers the following services for free to all who enter their doors:
- Breakfast and supper, 7 days a week
- Clothing
- Laundry facilities
- Showers and baths
- Warming station
- Spiritual direction
- Counselling
- Community Referrals
The GoFundMe campaign is hoping to raise funds to purchase industrial kitchen equipment and to complete repairs on existing machinery. The new equipment will reduce the time and number of volunteers needed to prepare meals.
